THEME & OBJECTIVES

Participants of the contact seminar “The Challenge of Teaching Entrepreneurship in Education and Training” will get to meet future collaborators and colleagues from across Europe and set out on strategic partnerships for strengthening teaching and learning of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial skills at European level.

Joint Nordic contact seminar

The Danish National Agency for Erasmus+ is in cooperation with Nordic colleagues from Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden hosting this seminar that offers presentations from experts in the field of entrepreneurship in education and good project examples as well as professional guidance and facilitation of group discussions and teamwork to foster the development of partnerships and project ideas.

In the framework of the Erasmus+ Programme this seminar will facilitate the development of Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships which aim to support the development, transfer and/or implementation of innovative practices, peer learning and exchanges of experience and knowledge in the field of education and training.

Entrepreneurship and Erasmus+

Erasmus+ aims to boost skills and employability as well as modernizing education and training in Europe. Thus Erasmus+ will support transnational strategic partnerships among education and training institutions and organizations to foster cooperation and bridge the world of education and the world of work in order to tackle the skill gaps Europe is facing. A main priority of the Erasmus+ Programme is to develop basic and transversal skills such as entrepreneurship, and Erasmus+ supports transnational initiatives fostering entrepreneurial mind-sets and skills to encourage active citizenship and entrepreneurship across Europe.

Since entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial skills are some of the basic and transversal skills that are prioritized horizontally in the Erasmus+ Programme it is the focus of this contact seminar. By bringing together different stakeholders for a contact seminar on the theme, the aim is to establish new strategic partnerships that aim to strengthen entrepreneurial skills and enhancing the quality of entrepreneurship in teaching and training.

Main aims and objectives

This contact seminar is a transnational cooperation activity (TCA) within the Erasmus+ Programme that enables stakeholders from the Erasmus+ programme countries to meet to establish partnerships, collaborate and share good practices so as to contribute to meet the objectives of the Erasmus+ Programme.

When participating in this seminar in November 2015, the participants will be able to establish strong and sound partnerships having enough time to prepare applications for funding from Erasmus+: Key Action 2: Strategic Partnerships for the deadline in early spring of 2016.

Thus the main objectives of the seminar are:

  • To share and explore ideas on and experience with entrepreneurship teaching in an intercultural setting

  • To understand the rich potential of cross-sectorial projects in the field of education and training

  • To foster new partnerships among the participants

  • To develop concrete project ideas and proposals

  • To develop first steps of an actual high quality application for Erasmus+ funding.

Target group and participants

The seminar is aimed at participants that will benefit from and contribute to a cross-sectorial partnership on entrepreneurial skills such as practitioners, educators, teachers and other people working with entrepreneurship and knowledge sharing across borders including stakeholders from the world of work.

The seminar is open to participants within the fields of:

  • School education

  • Vocational education and training

  • Adult education

The actors could be interested in developing teaching materials, implementing new training modules and establishing partnerships for strengthening entrepreneurial skills and enhancing the quality of entrepreneurship in teaching and training. They might already have concrete project ideas, but they might also just be open to new ideas and methods.

It is a cross-sectorial contact seminar, because the Erasmus+ Strategic Partnerships encourage different fields within education and training to collaborate. Cross-sectorial partnerships can bring forth new inspiration, ideas and methods where the different sectors can benefit from each other’s experience. Since it is a cross-sectorial contact seminar the participants should be open to working cross-sectorial.
