24H Camp – 24 Hour Innovation Camp, Innovation for future entrepreneurs. A project testing the ‘24H Camp’ as a method of teaching

This project, originating from the vocational education sector, is including schools and educational institutions as well as entrepreneurial business from the partner countries of the project.

The partners of the 24H Camp project all detected the need of improving the entrepreneurial spirit within their organisations. Each partner has entrepreneur studies in their curriculum, but practical ways and methods on how to teach entrepreneurship was lacking in the institutions and among the teaching staff.

“We think that to promote the entrepreneurial spirit among young people and to stimulate their entrepreneurial behavior we need practical ways and new tools to stimulate students’ way of thinking. We need also well trained teachers with the right entrepreneurial competencies and motivation”, says the project’s Danish contact person Allan B. Rasmussen.

Through the 24H Camps and the overall project itself the partner’s aim was to bring practice in the entrepreneurship studies, and the partners wanted to include local enterprises and local knowledge about entrepreneurship more actively in the every day entrepreneurship studies and teaching. In order to fulfill these aims, the partners held an international 24H Innovation Camp where students got to explore their knowledge about entrepreneurship in a practical way. It opende up great international international opportunities for the students with joint ventures and trade fairs, and they would learn about different countries, culture, language, import and export etc.

The CENTRES project is carried out in a partnership between the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Lithuania, Finland, Poland, Slovenia and the United Kingdom.

The CENTRES project aims at discovering the best practice and experiences through several pilot projects taking place at schools in the participating countries – practices and experiences that support and promote cooperation bestween schools or educational institutions and creative, innovative businesses. The results of the pilot projects will form the basis for the development of teaching and learning methods and tools, guidelines for cooperation as well as political recommendations.
